The gameplay and combat in part 2 is undoubtedly better, but familiar to the first game. However, it is a story-based game. I dont care about other reviews about their misogynistic opinions, we already knew that Ellie is written as a gay character and it didn't bother most of us. I was able to play part 1 dozens of time on any difficulty because the story was good. Part 2 takes the first story and puts it in a blender. The theme of surviving at all cost is gone and instead is replaced with *SPOILER* ruined characters, Joel went out as an old man not being able to fend for himself like the lovable character he was in part 1, Tommy's character was ruined in one scene, Jesse went out in a super unexpected, shocking and boring way. Lastly, the antagonist didnt think that killing Joel with witnesses from a huge town like Jackson wouldn't get them on their trail, that's not believable. Able goes all *shocked pikachu face* after finding out Ellie is hunting them. Conclusion, combat is fresh but familiar, world is near open world, but story makes this game almost unplayable or at least un-replayable. People who rated the story as good are either not real fans of the first game or had zero attachment to the characters. There is one review below where the user commended the writers for making such a bold and risky move and they loved it, I'd say that either the user is fake or in Ellie's words a "Bigot" and their review their "Bigot Sandwich".
