It feels like a Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson movie from 2004 with elements of Netflix's "Luke Cage" however drenched in contrivance . The movie's awfulness begins with a scatterbrained plot and ends with laughable resolutions. Terry Crews tries to give a decent performance (which he kinda does. As well as his father.) but it falls on the wayside when other characters are playing cliches to serve the movie's "purpose." Terry Crews was only on screen I'd say half of the time which defeats his purpose as the protagonist. The direction overall was spotty and it didn't really incorporate a lot of elements from the folklore it was based on.
Ludacris's "golden jaw" looked like a slab of peanut butter was oozing out of the side of his face. Why was he there? Why did this movie happen?
