A well acted film, it does get a little "sweet" in the romance department. However, the karmic conclusion makes it all worthwhile. One of my favorite movie endings.

I've not read the books, so my opinion is based solely on the 1st episode of the t.v. show. I'm enjoying it. It has a "Stephen King " kinda feel. So far, so good. Seems like the complaints I've read are based on the script not matching the books. Perhaps the script was written with modern day reality in mind. I now have a new book series to read, but I'll keep in mind that two different audiences are being aimed at here.
