This film is one of my favorites from Pixar, and for good reason. Andiamo! 1: The comedy is spot on. 2: The storyline is very simple and easy to follow. 3: The characters are well written. 4: Luca and Alberto are adorable together. 5: The scenery is amazing. 6: The message is great. 7: The way Pixar showed that people can have disabilities and disorders and still live perfectly normal lives through Massimo is wonderful. 8: The water transformations are astounding. 9: Guilia is a great character that a lot of people like myself can relate to, being different and all (instead of being hostile with Luca after seeing that he’s a monster, she just tells him to leave for his safety, which I think is a good change from the usual cliche route). 10. Alberto is the best character in the film. He had no family for so long, which sparked huge abandonment issues and locked himself away in the tower because of them. However, he overcomes them towards the end of the film and gives up his dream so that Luca can go to school. The icing on the cake is when he says to Luca, “You got me off the island, Luca. I’m okay” to symbolize that Luca has helped him to overcome his abandonment issues. I can go on and on, but all I can say is this: Give us a Luca 2, or a Disney+ series, because we need more, Pixar!
