Portia Carney

I could not put this down. The way she describes Kya as a young child to Kya as an adult is luminous. The imagery in this book is indescribable as well and I struggle with words to describe how amazing this book is. The way the two storylines combine eventually is beautiful to read about. One scene that had me breathing deeply and in shock was the courtroom scene, and especially the closing arguments. A must-read.
