SPOILER FREE Just like the first game, TLOU Part II delivers dramatic story with dark and gritty themes. The story is purposefully told in a non linear fashion and shifts a lot, which caused me to feel conflicted about character decisions at different points. While the story felt slower at times it always kept me engaged. Naughty Dog constantly introduces new settings or gameplay mechanics to keep things fresh throughout the game. Puzzles are done better than the first game with more subtle and tricky solutions. Overall while the story is not as consistent as the first installment the writing feels on par and the gameplay feels familiar but polished. Would definitely recommend to any lover of the first game.
