Very predictable fare. Anil Kapoor shines until he gives it away by a sudden change in confidence thereby signalling to the audience that he is responsible for turning the tables on the other AK. The other Kapoors (Harshvardhan and Sonam) are pathetic as usual and not a chip off the old block. Anurag is convincing and does a good job. Overall, the movie was predictable but definitely worth a watch for Anil's acting prowess.

I am not a chess player and have generally found the game too slow and complicated to ever take it up. One of the biggest successes of the show is the fact is that you don't need to know/play/like the game of chess to be able to enjoy the show. There is not a dull moment and the show is fast-paced enough to keep you interested and invested both. The actors have done a fabulous job and the pace of the show is just right. The attention paid to the set design, cinematography, sound, light and general aesthetics of the show is top-notch. One of the better shows in recent times that doesn't involve a murder or a mystery, but just someone who is a chess prodigy trying to stand her own ground against a grandmaster and the journey that gets her across that line.

Bizarre! That's the only word that comes to mind after watching this. Anurag Basu tries his best to relive some of his thematic musical-based cinema from Barfi! followed by Jagga Jasoos, but somehow is unable to recreate some of the phenomenal scenes in Barfi! There are some moments of brilliance in the movie with a reasonably good background score by Pritam and some lighting brilliance, especially the scene where Abhishek Bachchan meets his 6-year old daughter who he's been separated from. Other than that, there are forgetful storylines. The script tries it's best to create coincidences but ends up being a cacophony of circumstances. Rajkumar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi stand head and shoulders above the rest of the cast. A movie that's 45-60 minutes too long that held a lot of promise, but was quickly abandoned in pursuit of trying to recreate a musical that was Barfi!

It's a feel-good movie, particularly relatable if you had a memorable college life. While the premise of the story seems a bit overblown, the film redeems itself with the performances and the excellent characterization of each performer and the attention given to each individual. The Director has done a great job of telling this story in a way that doesn't appear to be cliched. While the movie is slightly long in duration, you don't really feel it. The story, the direction, and surprisingly, the music is what takes the film across the line in style.

Dream Girl is a witty comedy. While the storyline doesn't inspire much, it nonetheless leaves behind a very pleasant aftertaste. Performance of the actors is above par and every single character shines through in the space they have, with the exception of Nushrat Bharucha, who is an unconvincing banshee that she continues to portray in this film as well. This movie isn't slapstick and is a movie that's a comedy of errors. Time well spent.

Zach Galifinakis is undoubtedly the star of the movie. With a number of cameos from various Hollywood celebrities, this movie is bearable and fun to watch, also because it's the right duration. There's no storyline to the movie (and one shouldn't expect it in the first place). It's more of a homage to Zach (and his ferns), plus his very popular internet vignettes that pretty much everyone who has anything remotely to do with youtube and hollywood would have come across -- and loved. There's a lot that can be forgotten in the film, but the irreverence and unmistakable style with which the Hollywood celebrities are roasted is extremely entertaining.

Genre: Courtroom drama. Watch in a theater? Yes. For the acting and dialogue delivery. Verdict: 7.5/10 Review: The overarching message of the movie was well delivered and supported by some powerful acting. The first half of the movie was a bit of a drag but the second half picks up pace with almost everyone picking up their game and delivering some memorable scenes. Easily one of the better, more believable, and not to mention, relevant courtroom dramas in recent times.

Honestly, I don't get the big deal about this movie. I'd give it a 5.5/10 at best. Positives: -> Humor -> Acting. Particularly good performances by Rajkumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. Negatives: -> Loose script with gaping holes. -> Poor editing job. The movie looks like it takes various shortcuts towards the end. Feels rushed. -> Misplaced genre: Not a "horror" movie by any stretch of the imagination. -> Shraddha Kapoor: Unfortunately, a dead giveaway and needs to sharpen those acting chops

The less said, the better it is. Touted to be a promising film at the start, the movie flounders the minute the cast enters the Forest. The film could have done with a tad more of supernatural mystery and thrills instead of brushing loud noises. Patience runs out quickly and suddenly the film switches gears exposing "the monster" which looks oddly bizarre and borderline funny. In short, the movie just doesn't work and fails to invoke even the mildest amount of fear in the audience.
