I actually like this show. It is certainly not Archie for kids, but is a great watch for adult viewers. I was surprised that it was not at all like the comics. It dealt with adult themes. I was a bit surprised at all the casual sex that I was seeing. As a gay man, I was glad to see some gay characters in it. I was surprised to see Kevin laying in the bed in Betty's bedroom while she glammed up at her vanity in just her bra and skirt. That was my first clue who the character was and I realized that I had done the some thing with straight female friends when I was young. Some disappointments: I was disappointed that Dilton Doily's character was not developed to more than a quick murder victim. Mr Lodge was scary in this series, not as just funny in the comix. Veronica Lodge was quite different as well. Some of the violence and situational violence was intense and unexpected. I had trouble watching Jughead's beat-in to the Serpents and Archie having to fight for the juvi's warden's sick pleasure. Pluses: A lot of twists and turns Good character development of the main characters. Excellent videography. I would rate the series an 8.5 out of 10. It is a great binge watch which I did during the COVID-19 shutdown here in Florida.

This was an amazing story for its time. It was done in 1961 when the word "lesbian" was never used and it was not done in this movie as well. Both Shirley MacLane and Audrey Hepburn gave great performances. The audience was led to the storyline of the movie by hint and innuendo rather than talking about it. The ending was tragic and illustrated the extreme pressure that a closeted lesbian was under and the reprisals that she would face from the public back in that day. Having come from a small town in Iowa, I have see this informal gossip "network" be the ruination of innocent people in several different situations that later turned out not to be true. Unfortunately, the damage was already done. Very well done by the whole cast and I thank the director for his "edgy" discussion of the issue.
