Period dramas always grab me by the coattails. When they are as sweeping, epic, and romantic as Poldark is I have to pull myself up by my bootstraps to get back to real life. I was hoping this gorgeous series would last us for a time, but alas, it is set to close after next season. I will mourn, for there are truly not many great shows on TV, and because Poldark gives such pleasure. I will surely sense its absence.
