To start off, I'm in no way a Trump supporter. I try to be as politically unbiased as I possibly can be and don't like to affiliate myself with either political party. That being said, this was the most pathetic attempt at political commentary I've ever seen. There wasn't a single antagonist (and there were plenty antagonists) that wasn't a minority. They we're ALL white. The antagonists that did get screen time featured a Redneck that called his wife "Mother" (which may or may not be a jab at former vice president Mike Pence), A Nazi who has a Swastika on his forehead and has the supernatural ability to tell both caliber of a bullet and specific model of gun its being shot out of based only by hearing the sound.....which is impossible, a pair of white guys in bunny costumes and a a former white employee that decides to go rogue. The movie had no problem utilizing a single race as their main antagonist but decided to completely gloss over the dangers of illegal immigration through means of cartels which is a much more serious and realistic issue. Instead, they decide to show and 30 second clip of the protagonists walking in a tunnel and voilà they've made it to America safe and sound. The acting was subpar, The writing was putrid, the special effects were somewhat amateur but at least met expectations. The plot was promising but once again the purge franchise has failed just like its predecessors. Highly recommend not going to pay for this movie. Maybe check it out once it's on Netflix.
