Bonaventure Cemetery Journeys

Spoiler alert! It had some real strengths, was much more watchable than Season 1 where watching Eva Green cry for 3 seasons made me mental, but in the arc of Season 2, there was enough human vileness to explain dark events and the rather imagined malevolent forces played impressively in 4 characters simultaneously by Dormes, never really connected or hooked up stylistically to be frank and the killing off of Sister Molly wasn't swallowed well or a convincing plot twist. Perhaps it might have been explained in Season 3 but we never got there. Like Season 1, beautifully acted, thrilling sets, music, costumes, nods to actual history. Just incredible in ways, really. Hated to see it end the way it did but there was definitely drag.

What a waste on Bradley Cooper but you know it can never just be about the music. It's got to be about their lowest vibrations to take every human achievement down as many notches as possible. Sorry Leonard they threw it away.

This was genius storytelling, filmmaking, the whole scheebang. Cannot believe it suffered from such losses and was cancelled but wholly a success on every other end of the spectrum. I couldn't wait for more personally!

This was beautifully told, acted and sublimely filmed. At times it reminded me of a play in the dramatic nature of the many dream sequences and flashbacks. Brilliantly cast and Sarah Gadon who plays Alias Grace was perfect in her portrayal. Not an easy thing to steal the frame as an actress talking to the camera as much as she did but one's eyes stayed glued as she was so compelling and convincing in the feelings she shared on screen. Really hated for the story to end actually as I didn't want to say goodbye to her and think most would agree that the story does not end as one might expect or even hoped that it may but somehow it does actually work to the advantage of this semi-historical telling.

After the filmmakers tried to cram every virtue signaling concept down the viewer's throats in the first 10 minutes, I knew this propagandatainement film was a total lost cause. Buh bye now.

This is Martin Scorsese's vanity masterpiece and a masterpiece in vanity. Don't believe the hype. After an hour I was over it and not even something one would watch just because you're a fan. Every other 3 minutes I was operating on that wishful thinking it would crank up or turn itself around. Not even compressing all of these "great" actors into these roles can save this one-note, one speed paced film. Not sure what went wrong. Was it trying to de-age DeNiro? Which by the way, did not work and was starkly obvious and not something the film restores your confidence in as he just doesn't come off as a middle-aged guy and becomes farcical as DeNiro tries to channel and convince your otherwise. The whole thing comes off as a conversational documentary and not even the action saves it. I think Scorsese has too many yes people around him and not enough straight shooters. I've said this before after seeing the over-hyped Shutter Island. Probably conditional to being a master and not sure how you reboot that into existence but

Started out with a heartfelt and believable premise, storyline. Takes a sharp left turn along the way towards the implausible, sells the characters out completely, particularly the main character of the son and by that time I just wanted every character to die.

First 2 episodes contrived as Hell. Dare we say "too comic book"? Episode 1 not very convincing "New & Improved" Frank just hanging in a country bar trying to be normal. Really? And spoiler alert, the teenage girl he rescues Episode 2 is annoying beyond words as an actress or character not sure which. Frank murders like 10 people on her behalf but she acts like annoyed teen and isn't believable in the slightest. The only redeeming part is the new villain. I'll hold out but show needs to grow up or remember the maturity of the real followers
