I’m a huge fan of Voltes V. Watched every episode when I was in elementary school. The effects were good, the imperfections I find intentional for the sake of nostalgia. However, it’s the acting that I didn’t like. I didn’t connect with the characters’ acting. It’s so… amateur. Someone else made a comment here saying the acting is ‘lousy af’, and I couldn’t agree more. To think that some of the cast are supposed to be really talented, and I had high hopes. Watching it in the cinema with my Japanese friends here in Tokyo, I was really embarrassed. One of them dozed off in the middle of the movie (they showed the first part of the series in a shortened form). They said they liked it but maybe it could be shorter, because there were a lot of repetitive scenes. I found it too long with such bad cringe acting. It felt like they tried to put everything in the supposedly shortened version. We will not watch the 2nd part. I wanted to love it so bad because of nostalgia and the fact that it’s made by my fellow Filipinos, but it didn’t do that for me. 😔

I had fun watching this drama on Netflix. The English title is ‘Rebooting’. There were cringe moments but I got used to Japanese acting and I live in Japan now, so it has become the norm for me. That’s really how the Japanese people I meet usually talk/move/act. I giggled and cried and sighed and reflected on life through the episodes. I love the first frame and the last frame of the 4 birds🥹

I enjoyed the movie’s very beautiful visuals. Each frame is like a beautiful photo.

Enjoyed every minute of it. Made me laugh and cry. Will watch it again with loved ones when we can be physically together again. Take care everyone!

Watched it twice and my jaw hurt from smiling too much. I genuinely enjoyed it. My mom and I are crushing on Santa Claus now hahaha! 😍
