This movie was so bad, so so bad. The acting was awful. Everything was bad but the most xompletely unrealistic part was that she went to Peru and back in a week🤣

I love the original candyman and was hoping for a modern take on it, I was expecting more from a Jordan peele movie. This was a big let down for me, the person I watched it with, and a friend who watched it the showing after mine. I try to appreciate movies for what they are, but this was a VERY slow moving movie with little to no momentum built up at the ending. It seemed more to be about gentrification, minority issues in society, police brutality anddddd yeah that's about it. I appreciated the visuals and artistic take on it but I felt like there wasn't any real character development. I didn't feel bad or care for any of the deaths because there was nothing to MAKE you care about them. This movie was not scary at all.

I saw this 2 days after the dissapointment of Candyman. This movie was much better. The jump scares were few but IMO were totally unnecessary, as the story alone is enough to hold the viewers interest. It was slow moving but built up to a good 3rd act. The person I watched it with was a bit confused but it made perfect sense to me. Overall I liked it and I thought the story like was original and entertaining.
