Uneven and forced. Painfully obvious that Sir Elton had a large hand in the production as his “failures” are not really his fault and everything is kind of whitewashed. The songs do not match up to his life events, which is not surprising since they weren’t written by him. A great artist and a great team, but the director tried too hard to make an artsy and surreal movie instead of an interesting one. Worth a watch on a rainy day but not great.
