This book is invaluable in understanding the nature of recreational shark fishing in the USA. Shark fishermen, even today, will tell you that they hate sharks so much that they brutalize them just for laughs once they have them on board, and this attitude is described and traced in this well researched book. It also shows why catch and release is not a solution. The sharks are so badly handled by the 'monster hunters' that nearly all of them die after release. It is a must read by anyone concerned about the conservation of sharks.
