As a nurse who worked with youth and in mental health throughout my career, I am horrified at the treatment and displacement of these children into these places of horror. I can not even fathom the degree of trauma that so many have gone (and continue to go) through, never mind the heartbreak of suicide. This was well done and while there is no absolute closure re: the true villains at the end, it is the raising of awareness that this series does so beautifully. There are times I honestly felt like I was watching “The Handmaid’s Tale” with some of the treatment of these children, as if Aunt Lydia was there. Well done Katherine and I hope you win an award for your work - God knows, you deserve it! Going to have a Mike’s Hard now to toast all of you wonderful people…

This brought up so many emotions about hate crimes and misuse of social media. Lots of lessons to be learned. The protagonist is phenomenal in this and delivers a raw and terrifying performance as an innocent young man who is so afraid but has no support. It was very thought provoking…

I read the reviews. I tried so hard to give it every break but the storyline is just so…ridiculous! The acting is just off too - believe me, I watch Die Hard every Christmas and I know Bruce is awesome, but it just feels so staged…

I liked it and I’d honestly give it a 3.5 (in between 3 and 4). I really like Mike Flanagan’s work and I had to smile when I noticed the title of the character’s book was “Midnight Mass”, which series I just recently binged on Netflix. Plus the friend was in that show as well. There were a lot of good twists and turns for sure. Some things that would’ve helped her in the beginning but she didn’t think to use first seemed obvious (I won’t spoil it), but then again I’ve never had anyone taunting me with a crossbow outside my house so not sure how fast I would think (LOL). Adding the component of her having a hearing disability made it interesting. Again, I’ve never been disappointed with this Director’s movies or series (If you haven’t seen it yet, I must recommend A Haunting at Hill House).

I enjoyed this film despite some of the negative reviews. The main character was so broken and there was such sorrow it sets the stage for a good story and why you are cheering for him. You empathize with him and despite him being perceived as paranoid, you somehow underneath know he’s onto something and can relate why he sees things the way he does! It does have a Manson like story feel to it, as others commented.

Quite an emotional ride watching this film. It makes it relatable on numerous levels...if you’ve suffered losing a child in any capacity (stillborn, miscarriage, infertility), experience conflicts in family or partner relationships, or see an aging parent declining this will hit home hard. The dialogue is so “real”...it doesn’t feel scripted. Lots of visual moments where you really feel their sorrow. I felt sorry for every character in some way!!! It leaves you feeling thoughtful and...well...hopeful too!

This movie certainly kept me on my toes in the last hour! The characters had good depth and it made you feel an extra level of “angst” brought on by their relationships with each other. I think that’s why it worked so well for me! It also made me feel a bit uncertain about Airbnbs LOL.

Great series about two strong women in a long-term friendship who go through a lot individually as well as in their own relationship. The music, flashback scenes brought me back to my own childhood memories. The song from “Heartburn” (Carly Simon) became such earworm that I ended up rewatching that movie LOL! I’m looking forward to a second season.

It was seriously bad. The trailer made me think it was going to be a “Dirty John” type flick but no... There were so many holes in the plot. Why weren’t the police investigating all these missing people!? Or following up on 911 calls? I watched “Run” on Netflix the day before and the kid (who was paralyzed in a wheelchair) was way more resourceful and resilient...that’s a good one btw.
