Captain Murphy

I am really trying to enjoy this show but I'm finding it excruciatingly boring. The story is moving at a glacial pace. 3 episodes in and there isn't a single character I care about. I'm all for a slow burn but so far this feels like 20 mins stretched out into three episodes. There's very little intrigue so far to hook me in, only the tiniest whisper of a mystery. We already know an invasion is coming but it's very clear that the invasion is the least important thing about this show so far. This is about boring human drama. A cheating husband, a retired sherif, a cartoonish grade school bully and a secret romance. All of these characters are painfully melancholic and boring. They might turn this around and give us something compelling like "Arrival", "Contact" or "Close Encounters of The Third Kind". I won't hold my breath though.
