A little long in the telling and sometimes you can lose the story thread but the story of decline and fall of King Hale and his nephew Ernest is biblical. Also, while the principal performers where excellent, the raft of well known actors even in small parts showing their chops makes this movie a must see.

I loved it. It reminded me of the old days in business when you thought you had a good idea and then acted upon it. Pure fun.

So this is a Tom Hanks film and in this genre he is terrific, but you really have to suspend all of your other common sense elements to make this movie work. Like how do you move a big truck and a big motor home but never stopped for fuel? Sure he did add a Gerry can of fuel in the RV but seriously a trip from St. Louis to San Francisco without regular fuel stops? Seriously? And the there is Jeff the robot. What is his power source? Nuclear in his belly? Certainly not from the solar panels on the roof of the RV trashed when Finch Drove the RV under an over pass. Oh and let’s talk about food. The only thing you see Finch eat is a taste of dog food and a can of peaches. Nice movies Apple but you need to work on the reality parts too.

It was okay entertainment with some great cgi but there were stretches of reality that really stuck out. Never in any of the drives, particularly from Kentucky to Canada in a pick up truck did our hero stop for gas. When they got to the border there was no Canadian or US presence, seriously? But best of all was the miracle flight from southern Canada to Greenland in an overloaded two engine plane. Some fuel economy there.
