This was a very easy read. I really loved the plot and the story idea, and I felt Karenna was a really unique protagonist.
This books did more showing than telling, and it was a little jarring in these moments because I was yanked out of the dream of living in a book rather than just reading it. However, the writing was fairly good, and I was always on the edge of my seat.
I think some of the characters acted a bit immature for their age (especially Lucy). Some of the dialogue feels really unnatural, and I think some of the background could have been presented better.
Overall, I absolutely loved reading this, and I can’t wait for the next book.
