As a huge fan of the series, I was super excited to be able to read and analyze this book. Although snow seemed like an odd choice for the main character, I was more than willing to keep an open mind because of my love for the original Hunger Games trilogy. Revolving around a teenage Coriolanus Snow, the entire book is way too engrossing and gripping. Divided into 3 parts- "The Mentor", "The Prize" and "The Peacekeeper", the reader is given full insight on Snow’s character as it perfectly explains how he becomes President Snow through character growth. Collins built the tension for the climax beautifully and things worked out perfectly, while still surprising the reader. The characters were brilliant, and the ending was nothing short of amazing It gave me just enough, while leaving a bit unexplained to reinforce Snow’s character which is always a good thing for me, I really love testing the limits of my imagination. The only minor issue I had about this book was that a lot of the words were excessively obscure and difficult to understand, and thus required a lot of googling, which made the book a little hard to be absorbed into. But on the bright side, I learned a lot of new grammatical parlance from this book. Suzanne Collins has written this remarkable yet so sublime piece in just 528 pages.
