This show took unacceptable liberties with the source material. Apart the general them of the book nothing remains but the names of characters and the title of the series. The characters bare no resemblance in soul to those from the novels and unnecessary changes where made to the way the story unfolds. Yes changes need to be made when adapting novels to TV or into movies but what was done here was taking a wood chipper to a forest and saying the resulting mulch was still the same forest.
