Netflix shows now a days are all being done in the "mini series" format and I just feel like we cannot relate or connect to the characters the same way we used to when the seasons were longer. It's just not the same anymore. There's usually a single plot now opposed to when a series used to have many different ongoing plots. Now you just have to grasp on to the scarce moments. More specifically on the series I just feel like they wanted to do something as different as this "reboot" is they just had to do something else and not involve the "Rebelde" name in it because it completely lost the essence of the original. Not only that but Rebelde was a novela which made it more more dramatic and emotional and funny. They just tried to make this reboot very American and at times very stale.
