What a disappointment. I didn't expect great but it was just a mess. The 2003 one had heart and laughs and believability; this one has bad cgi, boring storyline, and absolutely no chemistry at all. It's like every actor got given different notes on what the plot was and then they just stitched it all together... badly. There were a couple of laughs here and there but the attempts at pathos and dealing with loss were just dead in the water. Haha. I actually left this movie with a headache it was so bad. I can see a younger generation possibly liking it (the junior lead actually reminded me of Gary Coleman from Diff'rent Strokes, and his was the best performance here) as it's very VERY lightweight but it's also just a MESS . Waste of my time and money but we all know the studios are now attempting to do that thing with monkeys and typewriters aka the AI revolution. I wouldn't watch this again if you gave me a free pass a cash refund and free snacks.

Meh. Plot twist wasn't very twisty, it would've been a pretty good B flick but the hype surrounding a Shyamalayan movie is no longer believable. I gave it 3 stars because it was at least interesting for a bit. I hated last years fantasy island but itight actually have been better than this. And ... SPOILER ALERT. the scene where the kids find the journal with all the names in it, and they say well bring the notebook, to feed the fire and keep mom and dad warm. EXCEPT somehow they have the perfect beach bonfire going, no driftwood anywhere on the beach ... how'd they do that and why would they need the paper?? Sloppy sloppy writing. If you want to see the man hiihimself, the guy who drove them to the trail to the beach, that's m n shysterman. 🤣🙄
