This book is fascinating. I, like my parents, was born and raised in Hawaii. While my parents did meet relatives in China when tourism first opened into PRC, we no longer have any connection to family in China on both my mother's and father's sides. Reading this book made me think of possible relatives who lived through the good times as well as bad, from old-time China to Mao's China to today's China. Well-written with many illustrations and photos, this book is a must read for all Chinese, native or American born.
