A great complex and sensitive film. The 'Parallel Mothers' were all the mother's in the film.. the grandmothers and mothers who lost their children through Franco's brutality as well as the young millennial ignorant of her country's history and herself a disempowered victim of sexual exploitation. Ironic that her mother was in a Lorca production but never educated her daughter. So many angles. Fascinating film of the pain joys and struggle of mothers and so much more
