Historically this is an accurate movie as to how Hollywood was in the early days. I did however think there a few too many scenes about the debauchery of Hollywood during that time period. Showing how actors were treated and how films were made was interesting. Especially in the changeover from silent movies to talkies.
I found all of the characters interesting, with Brad Pitt being the man who was on top of the world only to see his world crash around him. Diego Calva put in a wonderful performance as a man who was trying to make a name for himself. I did find Margot Robbie’ s character too deeply flawed and frenetic to really care about what happened to her.
Overall I enjoyed the movie more as a historical piece than a comedy or a drama.
