I watched the movie before I read the book. I don't know why but the movie does nothing compared to the book. I couldn't stop reading the whole series for a week. I love how Anna Todd brought every emotion to life on paper. I love how she portrayed Hardin's psychotic behaviors, it resonated well with me because these are real life qualities and emotions that we cringe at or hate to read about. I know we love the swoony books where the characters are all perfect but Todd's characters were semi-perfectly perfect for me. Although there were times I wished I could grab the characters ; especially Tessa and shake her hard to see reason but I wouldn't change anything about them. The only thing this book didn't do for me was the ending. With the slow way it began, the ending was rushed and I found myself flipping pages and wondering what the hell happened.
I'm glad I read this book. I made it a point to stop reading sappy romance novels but I absolutely loved this book. It made me cry, laugh, learn, and beautifully broke and healed me in ways only good books can. Thank you Anna. ❤
