My observations on many interviews with governors, mayors, journalist, other leaders, etc. few get the finer points when communicating to common folks who are victims and in the midst of their crisis. The fine points missing from the presentation needed to the vast public-- examples:
1) Arrest of CNN reporter 5/28 a.m. onsite that the officers are trained to verify the info given them; lots of fraud out there these days on both sides of the fence. We understand the history& it hurts to see so many of my people being treated unjustly and often time justice never executed. Verifying info is part of the process and necessary before fully accepting that information received.
2) A thorough investigation on the death of George Floyd requires a legal attested (& I would think dual verification of the process & observation) document of a full autopsy report.
When you are hurting such as the victim's families, friends and citizens that witnessed and & viewed the video are unable to think thru what is entailed in a full process / report -- which is believe to generally be missing from all reporting on most networks. This happens so often the bonding of these two sides, TRUST is not there nor created. Using quotes from MLK, for examples does help, but I have no clue how many of those doing rioting and looting actually watch CNN. But it can be included in other tools and formats, e.g, FB, etc.
As far as Trump is concerned everyone knows that he doesn't sleep-- a requirement for a healthy mind. Given that his demonic side bubbles up and which is his tough side and which he listens to. A side of himself he has never been able to balance with his humanistic; his public persona appears to identify with his negative & destructive self--- unfortunately.
