although Ii love Christmas lights, this show has just made it so commercially driven and not Christmas Spiritual driven. When the show started years ago there was more of the light display that was more homemade driven. There have been times when I have watched the show and it seems that the displays that are not flooded with the music and flashy lights does not win. These displays need to be awarded as well. In episode 4 of this year the family that won had so much computer help that it was nuts. the part that was the true meaning of Christmas they referred to as tacky. That was the most special and real . The family that had the Military display and salute should have won this, as they use the light display as a chance to say thank you and honor our military. - something that is not seen often on this show. i do realize that i do not have to watch if i do not want to, and i will make that choice. However this contest just seems to highlight those that are more of the high dollar displays that are not sentimental than those that the heart and soul of Christmas is truly about. . Remember the Charlie Brown show when he went to obtain a tree and found the place to just not focus on what Christmas is about? This is what has happened with your show. Just trying to bring a little focus back to the real meaning and not so much like money. merry christmas

I really love this show. Partly because I love Charleston and the quaint southern style and partly because it is one of the rare reality shows that seemed more real. That is until this season, it was completely disappointing to see the cast that are not teenagers, give up their adultness ( for lack of a better term) and show such irresponsible behavior. For the past seasons they did nothing but criticize the behalf Catherine, and this season she was the example. Shep really disappointed me with his racist remarks that he made. Yes it is racist to think you are the better of everyone, and refer to them a white trash and rednecks.
