As a Tolkien expert and literary connoisseur, I whole heartedly endorse this series. I don't LOVE every decision made, such as the inconsistent casting, or the odd slow pace at which the individual stories play out, but I do love the amazing visuals, acting (even by the Arondir, yes), and the inventiveness that the showrunners have shown (despite my extreme anxiety over the stiff lore that is Tolkien's work).
The trolls are just that, and they have no REAL criticisms, only objections. Let's face it, they don't like black hobbits, dwarves, or elves. But not because it's inaccurate, rather because they consider it "woke" casting. I am not CRAZY about the race swapping either, (especially the hobbit, but that actor just sucks in the role), but Arondir is likely going to end up my favorite character. He just embodies Elven self seriousness and pride, and that's why we don't cast for race.
