Simply put this movie was powerful, and a blessing to me that I will forever be greatful for. At first, I felt like this movie was just going to further the stereotype of what it’s like to be gay. I watched through the whole thing, and so much of this movie hit so close to home I cried. I know this movie is fiction, but some people go through that in real life.
The whole idea that you shouldn’t have to explain your sexuality to anyone is something I’ve felt alone on my whole life. Same with living with the fear that people will find out you’re different, then lose all of the respect they had for you. It’s horrifying at times, but as difficult as it might be, this film has inspired me to love myself and pursue happiness. I hope it does the same for everyone else that watches it. I believe that’s exactly what they set out to do.
