This movie changed my life. The quote from Goethe: If the world I once could see, could stand alone with the people free, then to the moment might I say, Linger a while, so fair thou art, which the young people said before they were shot, inspired me throughout my life.

A wonderful cast and a wonderful, funny movie. I saw it years ago and it holds up well.

This was the first movie I ever saw (as a child of 8). It made a great impression on me and at home we children played out the story many times. I was forced to play the king but wished to play the peasant girl.

I loved it and was sorry it was cancelled so soon.

Her performance was wonderful, the film was good but frustratingly choppy, the way it jumped around in time.

I never watched the series but the movie was excellent in every way. I especially love when I see John Hawkes.

Quite silly, but mildly amusing because of the wise cracks.
