Shadowlands is the best expansion since WotLK. The Shadowlands storyline interweaves itself into previous expansion storyline favorites, reintroducing characters like Uther, Arthas, Draka, etc. The newly crafted zones are stunning visually and sonically. Ardenweald is a stand-out, freshly painted with vibrant blue and purple hues. Bastion is soft and cult-like, reminiscent of the film Midsommar. Revendreth, while darker, is opulent and macabre. Maldraxxus showcases death in a more viral sense, using bright greens and poisonous colors to do itself justice. The Maw is a blackened mystery. Overall, I have enjoyed almost every aspect of this expansion. The storyline is lovely, even if a bit predictable at times. Predictability is comforting and I would much rather a predictable storyline featuring my favorite characters than something more surprising with new characters. 4/5 stars.
