WB did this movie real dirty for replacing Johnny Depp with Mads Mikhaelson because he looks too similar to the other villain!!! Johnny brought so much character to the franchise.
Nothing new/noteworthy happened in this one, it can easily be skipped during a Wizarding World marathon. It also bothered me that everyone forgot about Leta, despite how she was close friends woth Newt, betrothed to Theseus, etc.
Literally save your money. It will most likely end up on HBO Max in about 6 more weeks.
Spoilers:
There is a weak LGBT subplot where Albus Dumbledore and "new Grindlewald" were romantic with each other. But OMG the scenes with these two were so cringey it was the only notable part of this movie. There were only 2-3 fight scenes. The final "battle" scene lasted only 5 minutes, which consisted of Albus and "new Grindlewald" touching each other's hearts with the sound of a heartbeat as they pointed their wands at each other. My brother and I looked at each other and laughed because these writers clearly pulled this woke bs out of their 🍑 lol. Im not against LGBT plotlines/romances, but these writers cannot expect its audiences to feel any sort of emotion towards a couple we have no understanding towards. Like, there was more homosexual romantic tension in High School Musical 2!!!
