When you take a character like joker, one that’s been dissected and performed in countless beautiful, and embarrassing ways, and then to bring something new to the table is truly a feet to behold. Joker made me very uncomfortable in all the right ways, Phoenix’s performance made me feel both sad and disgusted, as this character should be portrayed. At the end of the movie I was asking questions and pleading for answers and yet I still felt content being left to speculation. I do not hesitate in saying this is definitely the movie of this year.
