A fantastic anti-war satire that does well to show the lunacy of war is not always in the hand of the enemies, but in the hands of those that are for all supposed purposes allies. We watch the unraveling of a man, not a particularly good man, but a man true to himself as he navigates to survive a war that has no regard for him. It is darkly funny, deeply sad and overall it is in some way relatable in the protagonists drive to survive and be happy yet when it seems within reach it could not be further away. I loved this series.
