I will be brief : this is an excellent, realistic action, no frills war film. The plot does not pull any punches, it shows soldiers under extreme circumstances reacting in a realistic way to an impossible situation. The plot is dynamic and is enhanced by the very tense 'domestic' scene involving German civilians. The conclusion whilst perhaps inevitable is very satisfying. This was well worth my second viewing and is amongst my favourite war films, do yourself a favour watch the film you will not be disappointed I am certain you will enjoy it.

Whilst not the best vampire movie it certainly has merit and is well worth a watch. Full marks to James Wood as the dedicated Vampire Slayer on a mission and the non-use of CGI. Yes it has plenty of of blood and gore, but come on what do you expect this is a horror movie. This was my second viewing of the movie after some time & I was not disappointed, it has aged well and holds it's own in comparison with more modern productions. I recommend that you give it a try.

Has the art of good storytelling been lost watching this film ? The Answer has to be a resounding YES ! Whilst I like a good strong action film, this was verging on the violent pornographic. Couple that with a non-existent plot & I was left wondering what was the story about, who was doing what to who & why were they doing it and what was the point of the film ? A complete miss mash, confused & exploitative, a dreadful film ....AVOID IT.

Excellent performance by Michael Sheen, but that's about it for the 2 stars. I've always highly rated Samuel L Jackson, but it is not appropriate to portray torture as cool. Yes, it will be said that this was a morality tale and that the torture scenes were necessary for the plot, but in my opinion it was graphic, gratuitous and virging on the pornographic. It is very rare that I wish I had not seen a film, but this was one of them. I notice that many reviews criticise the inconclusive ending of this film. Speaking for myself, I was just glad when it did end. Best to avoid this film as I wish l had.

Nobody likes a good cowboy more than I who was brought up in the 50's & 60's and enjoyed classics such as Waggon Train, Cheyenne, Raw Hide etc. So I was really looking forward to this series and given the glowing reviews I thought I was in for a treat. So I saddled up and watched the entire 6 episodes. But sadly this was NOT a good cowboy. Yes, there was spectacular scenery, but regrettedly there were too many plot holes, too much disjointed action. Indeed, I felt that I had often missed watching an episode. So confused was I as to what was happening and why. The only redeeming factor was that the last 2 episodes were the best they actually had some action and in addition I was very glad to get to the end of this trial... I cannot in all honesty recommend this series let's hope that the studios will learn from this concoction and produce a good Western.

Even if you are not a fan of war films you will like this one which graphically describes the struggle of the civilian population and an outnumbered militia against a brutal invasion. Good action scenes are balanced by a realistic portrayal of the domestic upheaval these dreadful events caused. Which certainly is topical and reflects today's events in central Europe. A little known episode in history which served as Hitler's 1st defeat in the 2nd World War.

TOTAL NONSENSE. I will not spend much time reviewing it. Except to say it was just an American military might-fest. The plot had absolutely no logic nor cohesion or reason. I was struggling to know who was doing who to what and why and where they were. What a load of nonsense. What a lot of wasted time and effort, do not bother, repeat do not bother watching this film. You will most certainly regret it... I certainly do.
