Reading through the fifth science, no matter how bizarre or monotonous the reading got, my interest rarely wavered. My main concern going into reading this was that exurb1a is not really an established author and maybe his content wouldn't transfer mediums quite well. But after finishing it I can honestly say that I am blown away. As with his videos, it is the right mix of tongue in cheek humour, human folly, and romantic existentialism. I felt truly a part of the world and now, after the fact, can't help but feel a nagging nostalgia.
Some of the stories were better than others (ofcourse), but with how short they were, it never really soiled the experience; with the epilogue 'a lullaby for the empire' had me just looking at the stare and thinking for an evening.
If you are a fan of sci-fi, and/or exurb1a's videos, I couldn't recommend this book more!
