I agree very much with the Richard Eardley review here. This is a reasonable enough tv drama and I will watch it to the end, but it is not Rebus as I remember from the wonderful books. Mishmash of characters, eras, plots partly taken from stories from the source material, with a lot of new stuff thrown in. Bizarrely the storyline is more about brother Michael than John Rebus. Going to dig out one of my old books to restore my faith.

Clearly a production which very much divides opinion. It didn’t work for me. I found OC’s performance rather irritating. But obviously many viewers have loved her, and loved the show.

Gemma Whelan deserves better material.

A truly awful film. Only gets one star because of David Thewlis's impersonation of the much missed Mark E Smith.

Stuck at it for about half an hour and then baled out.
