The movie used spontaneous explosions as a metaphor but it’s actually talking about school shootings and sudden tragedies in life. The focus is on how survivors are coping with such incidents and their status after experiencing something like that. Chaos, Carpe Diem, and whatnot. It’s best it didn’t provide an explanation for the explosions as that would turn the movie into a mediocre comedy thriller.

A politically hijacked master piece.
