Yes while the movie was a bit.. strange, I think everyone is forgetting the TALENT that they have hired to put this movie together. In most big screen movies depicting a musical (ie. Lalaland) they hire actors to pretend to sing and botch a dance combination. They have world class dancers and singers playing the roles of these iconic cats, and while maybe the CGI is slightly terrifying, you can not take away from how impressive the skill is. I do believe I prefer the Broadway version, which I’ve been lucky enough to see twice, however, I would never bash this movie. I was impressed and entertained by the skill and level of professionalism of the actors, singers, and dancers the entire way through.
