I found The Souvenir tedious and way underwritten. Also entirely implausible. What Swinton-Byrne’s character could possibly find attractive about her creepy slob of a boyfriend eludes me; he has nothing to recommend him.
The film looked like a few recurrent images and situations trying, and failing, to find coherence and meaning.
What a waste of two very long hours.
