If youโre getting a D&D video game, Neverwinter is a million times more fun. DA Combat is clunky, player charactersโ health bars are made out of glass, animations are way too long in executing the designated action (e.g. health potions take a good 5 second cycle to animate & you donโt get the benefits of the action unless the animation concludes, meaning when you need health the most, itโs nowhere close to on-demand, and chances are good youโre dead before the potion bottle hits your characterโs lips; when you need to execute your PCโs ultimate move, you canโt do anything โultimateโ until the animation stops, and chances are good youโve been stabbed, slashed, shot, and bludgeoned while doing your He-Man/anime power-up animation; even the basic attacks and blocks feel like super delayed responses, like youโre playing a stoned, sedated version of the character), for some odd reason it has a respawn countdown in single-player mode instead of immediately transitioning after PC death, allowing player to get on with the game, rather than staring at their dead digital corpse for the countdown, the flaws list goes on. There are much better fantasy action RPGs out there. This one is simultaneously a snooze-fest and an assault of cheap aggravations. Dumb game with too much hype. Thank god I got this one with Xbox game pass & didnโt actually have to fork over any hard-earned cash for this stinker. Take my advice, if you canโt pick this game up for free or in the bargain bin, donโt waste your time or money.
