The Assistant is slow moving, but a powerful film in it’s depiction of an entry level employee who is ignored, dismissed, disrespected, and unappreciated. It should be required viewing for everyone, especially men who often treat women in this dismissive manner. The lead actress is phenomenal in her portrayal and many, many women will relate to the manner in which she is treated. Kudos to the director and Julia for an honest portrayal of what is too common in every industry today.
