I have neen a star trek fan since I was a little kid in the late 70's.... and I didn't like the next generation at first but after the first season they made it a LOT better...... My issue with this new trek is that they seem to keep trying to ram rod Discovery in some way.... that show is garbage and breaks cannon. This show seems to do the same... They cant even call out the correct ranks!!!! Pike calls Spock a lieutenant when he is a LT. commander... same thing with the chick that was acting 1st officer... clearly she has commanders bars on!!! IF they cant even get the details right how do we expect them to do star trek justice.
