This is the most humane documentary I have ever watched! Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear T-shirts, shorts and a pair of flip flops!!! Most humble thing ever. I watched it 3 times, just to fully appreciate the wonderful things done by this group of people. Pushed to the extreme limits, risking their lives for nothing in return. Truly the world is filled with good people and this one event brought them out to light.
People from all over the world came together as a unit to rescue these boys. It was just beautiful. Even though the odds seemed to be against them, they all manage to coordinate and beat the elements. I was mostly amazed by the calmness of the coach and children, as they understood the kind of situation it was albeit to a lesser extent, they still managed to collect themselves and keep their cool. It was a tragedy to lose the Saman and surely his death did not go in vain.
I’ve never been more moved by a documentary before than this one. Thank you to everyone who was there for uniting and proving to the world that we’re capable of being ‘one people’ and that we aren’t so different from each other after all. Also a special thanks to Richard and John’s efforts and quick wits on the situation, and to Josh, Dr. Harris, Chris, Jason, Jim etc, who were able to bring the children and the coach out alive in such excruciating conditions.
Definitely going to get a copy of both John and Richard’s books. I can’t wait too for the actual movie to come out even though John will be portrayed as a hunky Irish man haha
