I am 41 years old and I had bought and played every John Madden game from the original one on the SEGA GENESIS to the 2010 one on Xbox/PlayStation. I love football. I was fortunate enough to have been able to play the game I love in life and play video games of it when the season was over. I would buy any football game I could, 2ksports football and Joe Montana's football and the college equivalent on Sega, as well as Madden and EA College football (originally Bill Walsh's College Football). Evey new system came out I had to get it for the new football games. Once Ea got the exclusive rights to the NFL it changed everything. They were no longer pushed to be the best (not that they even were 2ksports was definitely the best football game of all time) they became lazy and complacent with the game. Nothing changed to make it better to play, at least substantially. How many giimick things have been introduced one year only to epically fail and be gone the next? I was sick of paying for a roster update with no real changes to the game. It has been 9 year's since I purchased Madden. So with two young boys starting to love football I bought it this year for them to try it. I am so disappointed with this trash it is a shame. Nothing has changed to the actually improve the Game. Graphics look a bit better but considering this is PlayStation 4 and I last played on a Xbox 360 that is to be expected.The defence still just magically knocks passes down instead of intercepting the pass like a complete moron. Players still mess up and go through other players. You can't challenge when you want to. Truly expected there to be something better than this after 9 year's but with nothing to push them to do better. I imagine we will as football fans be stuck with this until the NFL allows other companies to push EA to step up and deliver a better product for us to enjoy. This is definitely not worth the money if u own a game of Madden from the last 15 years. Save your money or track down a Sega Dreamcast fire up 2ksports football and enjoy the last truly great football game. It will not disappoint you. Just my 2 cents.
