There's nothing wrong with season 2! I don't get what people are obsessing over but the creators were simply trying to map the protagonist's character development by situating him in a relevant, albeit underserved, setting. Jack Ryan's supposed to be an American hero. The second season documents his swag amidst Venezuela's geopolitical turmoil. As a CIA officer, this fits right in with the broader narrative whereby the US has been accused of meddling in Latin American elections. The characters are interesting, motivations can be inferred with ease, and the good guys win. We see Jack do stuff he couldn't have justified in the first season. This is an excellent spy thriller.
If your ignorance does not allow you to recognize anyone but an Islamic extremist as a threat to the Democratic fabric of society, then you need to watch the second season. If you still haven't changed your mind, you probably aren't going to. There are many shows inferior to this one that have been showered with unwarranted appreciation. I believe when individuals offer their ratings, they ought to consider the broader context of content standardization that is promulgated thereby.
This show qualifies as a 4.5/5. Am gonna rate it higher to offset the injustice. Cheers
