Emma Stone does fantastic in the lead role and the film has a solid premise. The issue is Disney watered down the films ending to appeal to a more kid friendly audience and turned this movie from a sympathetic villain origin story to a mess of an antihero story. It's hard to hate the movie because the start of the movie is so strong and the acting is fantastic across the board, but these strengths make the watered-down ending that much more disappointing.
