Still not what true fans hope for. I grew up watching the original Teen Titans cartoon. Rewatched it again a few months ago as an adult. While some parts of it seem too cartoony to me now, I still love the excitement when the team pulls though for each other, or the chill when Slade (voiced perfectly by Ron Pearlman) lurks in the shadows, or the humor when Beast Boy and Cyborg fight over a barrito. Then things were quiet for a while, until Young Justice came out. That show was the bomb and it had a more grown-up vibe and serious plot that my older self enjoyed a lot. Then for some reason it was cancelled; huge bummer. Then we got Teen Titans Go, because apparently every good show needs a
SpongeBob-like makeover to piss older fans off and mindlessly cram stupid slapstick humor into the minds of younger kids. I mean sure it was good for a laugh, but that was it. The rest of it was just lazy and uninspired. Now we have Titans, which sounded awesome at first, but I quickly became more and more skeptical about it. Now before you say it, it's not because Starfire is portrayed by an African American actress. It's because the show has So many things missing that it doesn't resonate with me whatsoever. I got one episode in and quit. That's all it took for me to see that our favorite characters were so far from there true selves. Then I saw the trailer for them fighting Batman because he went off the deep end or something. Maybe it turned out differently, but the idea of the Teen Titans fighting a homicidal Batman sounds terrible. The icing on the cake is that to watch the show you have to buy a subscription to DC's streaming service, and everyone just loves to add one more streaming service bill to there list.
Anyway, thats my review and rant, hope it helps you get a better picture of the show and this disappointed fans feelings towards it.
